Vintage 1960s early 70s Festival Jacket
Made in India
Heavy cotton / linen outer layer in a beautiful faded yellow saffron colour.
Heavily adorned with large florals in different coloured silks and mirror centers.
lots of running kantha stitch details
Trimmed in a contrasting lilac silk with stitching patterns.
The jacket is a basic boxy style with pockets on the outside
The lining is a plain brown medium weight cotton with large pockets inside.
Button and loop closure ( all buttons missing)

This jacket has had a life.
A vast majority of the floral embroidery has perished and some mirrors have gone.
The colours are no longer vibrant but the faded glory now has a beuty of its own, the patina makes this even more beautiful , in my opinion, the colours , though muted are gorgeous together and to me this is like a piece of wearable art.
